From your responses, you indicated that the wellness domain where there is the largest discrepancy between where you are and where you would like to be is Physical. Below you will find activities you can start today to assist you in reaching your wellness goal.
We suggest that you start with the right-brain activity. Though it may seem “different” and stretch you out of your typical comfort zone that is generally where true insight can occur.
Wellness Domain: Physical
Right Brain Activity | Create a self-portrait without using the form of a body or face. For example, use oil pastels or watercolor (or any other medium) and make marks on paper that represent you. Maybe it is a certain color or word(s) or texture. Practice sitting with this portrait for 5 minutes holding the image in loving kindness. What arises? |
Left Brain Activity | Write a specific, and attainable, goal for your physical health this week. For example, eat whole unrefined foods and greens 2 days this week. Or, exercise for 30 minutes 3x this week and get at least 6 hours of continuous sleep per night this week. Inform someone of your goal and check in with them at the end of the week to share how you did. |
Affirmation | “Black mother goddess, salt dragon of chaos, Seboulisa, Mawu. Attend me, hold me in your muscular flowering arms, protect me from throwing any part of myself away.” ~ Audre Lorde |
Happy creating!
