Welcome to the heartbeat of Integrative Counsel, our blog where tranquility meets transformation. This is your sanctuary for insights and wisdom on nurturing a harmonious connection between mind, body, and spirit.
It is kind to show others you care by listening intently and making a conscious effort to hear the message that is being communicated. Put aside those distracting thoughts, look at the speaker directly, and don’t mentally prepare what you’re about to say next–just listen. When you’re sure they’ve finished, paraphrase what they’ve said back to them so they know you understood what they said and they feel good knowing someone hears them,
Make the roads a kinder and more thoughtful place where people respect one another. Dissolve the barrier road rage creates and take time to be compassionate to one another while driving. We are all having our own separate human experiences and could benefit from wholesome moments where we least expect it.
Show compassion for the earth by keeping her oceans free of unnecessary garbage. Others will see your efforts and do the same. It’s something you can do every day without thinking, and it makes an immediate and tangible impact.
The kindest thing you can do for your loved one is to provide them with warmth and comfort, something a running a bath does without fail. Taking a bath not only improves mental health but physical health as well. Sylvia Plath writes in The Bell Jar “I am sure there are things that can’t be cured by a good bath, but I can’t think of one.”
You have your own exceptional set of skills and experiences, and the knowledge that comes with this can impact people’s lives. Sharing your knowledge with other people can be a great service, especially those searching for advice. One way you can do this is to comment below and share your knowledge of one way to be kind right now.
Starting with a creative written voice and a BA in English from ASU, Alli Cravener has become so much more than Integrative Counsel’s voice! Not only is she a writer who is passionate about connecting concepts and content, Alli is also currently a grad student working towards her Master’s in Counseling. She is also the editor-in-chief, office manager, AND intake specialist at Integrative Counsel. When you call us, you’ll talk to Alli! Alli’s interests include painting, history, learning about other people, and wearing the color pink. She likens herself to a “mouse in a palm tree”, and she loves it that way.
