Welcome to the heartbeat of Integrative Counsel, our blog where tranquility meets transformation. This is your sanctuary for insights and wisdom on nurturing a harmonious connection between mind, body, and spirit.
It’s officially the start of the New Year, and when many of us start to think about our new goals and intentions. What better way to do this than to create an intention board? If you don’t already know, an intention board is a collage that utilizes the law of attraction to help you create the life that you desire. It helps you creatively clarify your goals for the year and become a magnet for what you truly desire. Gathering with others to work on your vision board can help you get connected and inspired. Here’s what you will need to get started:
Have each guest arrive with a magazine to use, and a meal or snack to share with the group.
Start by having everyone in the room define their intentions for the new year. That way, everyone can go into the project with a clearly defined vision. This vision can be specifically aimed towards your career, love life, or one that’s more generally embodies your intentions for 2022.
Once you set your intentions, you can begin by searching through the magazines to find images or words that match your goals.
Clip these out with the scissors, and lay them out how you would like to glue them on your poster board. The image that you feel most strongly represents your intentions goes into the middle of the board. Try not to chaotically fill each white space–you want your year to be filled with peace, not chaos. Wait until the very end to glue your images down because you never know if you’ll want to rearrange them.
This is time that you can look forward to each year to dedicate to thinking about your goals and your vision for the future.
We sometimes forget to slow down and think about what we want and what would actually make us happy. Gathering with a group of friends to consciously create and plant the seed for the new year will set your year up for success because it will energize you to focus on your goals. A lot of creativity goes into making these vision boards, which is wonderful for your brain because making art helps calm the mind, putting you into a meditative state. When you’re in this relaxed state, you feel calmer about your goals rather than weighed down by the pressure you might otherwise feel when thinking about the year ahead.
